Post 10 English Challenges

I think the english tasks of the year has make me progress with by the constant use of the lenguage.
I think it was very good for us (the students or Arts) that English could be imparted into the seats of thetre and artesCentro. The past years you have to travel to Juan Gomez Millas or another seats in Andrés Bello campus, like Derecho, FAU or FEN.
About the blog, I think it is a good experience, but I learned more by looking on wordReference that from the feedback of the class.
In class I learned more on the activitis where we talk to the classmates or with the "very cabrones" listening. So, I think that thats a good aspecto to be improved: the feed back of the blog.
About me, I think my week points on english are still the writing and the talking parts. But I think I'm improving a lot. I think that I don't improve more its because I almost don't use the english outside the classroom.
In the future, I think english will be a good tool to keep studying outside the country, so I think the next year I would be in an institute that I could pay for keep improving my level of english and it don't become an obstacle to keep studying.
I don't know what more to say.
I have enjoyed being part of this class. Knowing people of anothers degrees like "danza" and "actuación" has been funny because they have ways to see the class that is very diferent from how I have my classes.

Post 9 - reflections about this year.

Well this year have some good things and bad things.
the very bes one dindn't hapened till the las week. Me and some companins have had played a work that had mean a lot hours training.
Well, that work have had so good critics from the public that went to the concerts that I really have get a lot of knots on my throat.It was so gratificatin listen the plauses that I could cry some times (no, I didn't)
The worst thing that have happened to me this year... hmmm... I really don't know what could ir be. There are some material things, like I loose my clockwatch. It was so sad when I realiced that I lost it when I ran to take a bus that I get frustrated for at leas two weeks. I still miss my clock. I feel like naked without it.
Buet the worst thing mus have benn that my old dog "Ho Chi" passed away. He was so good, and he didnt have anithing that could make us thing that he was going to die. Ho chi was a well companion in the goods and the bad moments. He always has his question face, and his little tail moving so fast. He was so nervious. Meaibe that ended by killing him. The day of the match between Chile and Argentina we where playing by the 15 and an hour before the match starts we found him laying in a sweet dreem. Then we noticed that he wasn't answering our calls. So we knew he was dead. I think we all want a dead like that one. From one moment to another, without pain. Yes... I really miss him.

About my Summer

About my planes for the summer I can only talk about a journy I'm planing with my girlfriend to go to Bolivia and Perú. On this journy we would like to visit places like "el Valle de la Luna" at San Pedro de Atacama in Chile. Also go to visit the Salar de Uyuni in bolivia. Then to de near Amazon in the center of Bolivia. In this journy I would like to visit my family in La Paz Bolivia. I have oly seen them one time in my life, when I was younger. Then we would like to cross to Per{u by the titicaca Lake. Then go to the north to see Cuzco and Machu Pichu and finally come back to the north of chile and try to get the southest town we can before we are off of money.
I think this will be an exiting adventure. Because, a lot of people make this journy but the great secret of a good journy is on the details that gives some special taste to the experience.
Also I would like to do some works I have pendent of some compositions I have started but culdn't finish in the academic year. I gould also try to program an "interface" to controle some virtual artefacts of my computer from my cell phone.
It is a great list of things to do. But I really will try to do everithing I want for my summer.

Post 7: Let's talk about money

For people who live in towns and cities it's impossible not thinking about the money. Our culture -a little bit fascist and a little bit capitalist- is designed  and built from the idea of getting money. I hate when other artists tell me "I study art because I don't want money". That bullshit is a cancer seed of postmodernism. Today, art is an easy way for the people who don't want this society but are to frustrated or are to lazy to do anything to change it. And they always say: "No, brother we don't need money to live". Of course, if you give a step away from the culture you live, if you go to the country or the mountain alone or with a little group of people, you don't need money. But to change the things inside the city. To win an election, to organize a country and be an option which can confront the institutions that imposes us, you need to control money.
I am horrible with money. I can't save it. It's difficult to me. When I go out with friends, if the don't have money, I buy whatever we need to have a great evening (I know they do the same thing for me). I never know how much money I have (how much money I don't have rather jejeje). If I have to pawn some thing I would probably pawn my old computer. If I were a millionare I would like to be batman... But to help the people who need me... not the enterprises that Bruce Wayne protects.

Post 6: I'm not that green

Well... I'v always been in a way next to the way of enviromentalism but not in the same. Since I remember, I usually cares about where I put my rubbish. At least my unnatural rubbish: plastic, and in general everything that is to much procesesd
Since I have been in the university I have known a lot of people that have made the enviromentalism as a way of life: from people that is used to recycle their materials or people that started to use the bicycle instead of the public transport, to people who works in eco-organizations and elavorates political solutions and proposals to make this country and this university a place more friendly with the enviorment.
As I was saying in the begining, all this people that I have met, makes me walk at least in the same direction than them. I prefer the bicycle to go all over Santiago. (Sadly, my bike was steal one year ago). I always try to use the recyclebins and it is strange that I just drop it on the ground.
But is not a topic in my one priority. I have had the oportunity to buy a new bike, but in stead of that I have bought music devices like my new notebook or my soundinterface.

Probably I will never be vegetarian or vegan by the way.

5. My future job

I dont know where will I work in the future.
This  year, I have try a lot of things that I could do:
I have teached music to a kid, wich is an activity that refresh my from the boring days of the week. It gaves me new energy. Every time he learns something that I teach him, the spark of his eyes turns into happynes for both of us.
 This have been I have made music for a dance solo, this is a little bit boring, but support the work of a partner is great to!
I'm learning to program electronic music. This is one of the most intresting things I'm doing now. I'm using electronic music in diferent ways of my compositions and it's a world faaaaar away from the instruments I have used in my previous works.
I really don't know where will I end. I accualy thinks of my self like a good teacher, but if now somebody ask me what i would like to do right now, I probably would answer that I'm interested in making music with electronic objects and create resounding-instalations. Probably I will keep studying for a while.

Post 4: BFF

Well, the last week I have actually spoke about my friends. It's a bit difficult to me to decide who is my best friend. I have just talked with two of them the last week that I'm not a guy of having a partner. I don't have a friend by mi side every day to do all my things with or maybe who I tell all about me. I have a lot of friends. There is those of my school, some others from the university.  Those of my career... Even my brother is like a friend to me, because we share like that since I can remember. I think I have good friends. Not those that kneed to know everithing about you always. Those that cares about you. Those that choose to help you when  you ask. I think the most important thing about friendship is that you can say somebody is a friend not only when they help you with something, but when you know you will do everithing you can to do something for him/her when asks for you to help with anything.
It's strange the friendship. Sometimes you don't talk to your friends for a long time. But whith friends it doesn't matter. You will talk to a friend like you have always be together.

A day to remember

I can't go to past that easy... Not that I have  no memories.  I have some good memories  and bad memories. But I'm always thinking about  the future... I live that  much  my present and think that much about future  that turns me difficult to think about the things I have lived.
And yet, I actually remember a lot of tiny things. I can  remember being with my friends  at school, laying in the bench by the side of the hockey field... sleeping, laughing, resting under the sun light after an activity we realized  the morning of that day as student center for the "teacher's  day".
I think that entire  year -2009- is  very important for all the things I have done till to  day. Those friends... The most of them are by my side till to day. It doesn't matter  how  crazy an  idea could  be. Doesn't matter how difficult live could be. Friends are there to  share and support.

It's sad because  I have loose  one of those friends when I couldn't help him when he needed me.

Post 1: Country I would like to visit

The north of Europa calls me every time I hear one of my favorites music grups: Sigur Ros.
They are from Iceland and I can see in every chord the green frozen fields, the blue enveloping water. When I went to Puerto Natales and Punta Arenas in the south of Chile, I think the whole time that I love that cold. It wasn't a cold that penetrates under your clothes like the cold of the north of Chile, or the cold weather of Santiago. it was more like a feeling that surrounds every thing.
I would like to visit those cold countries. I would like to feel that cold arround the ideas. A cold that pervade every  idea so when you hear music from those countries you can hear that cold like a frozen cristal in every  chord, in every melody, in the selection of the instrument. You can hear a cold music that makes you fly to the lands where composers and musicans live or used to live.

Post 2: The best concert!

There  have been two concerts I could  say "this is the best concert of my life!"
Both  of them  was held  at the "Estadio  Nacional". The first one was in 2007. I didn't know much about the  band...  I was invited by my father so I hear -some weeks before the concert- a few songs that I download. And  it was amazing! "The Police"  is for far one of the best concerts I have ever gon!! There was no kneed for knowing the songs because the concert it self was prepeard to be in the top of estimulation. Colors everywhere, proyections on the people, the music sound  so  good. It was just amazing.
When I go out of the stadium I say "there will be no other concert  like this one "... And of course, I was wrong...
It was the year 2011 when I know that on march 2012 will came to chile one of the most big prductions  of all times: Roger Waters  "The Wall Live". And it accualy have everything. Airplains that crushes on the stage, animated proyections, the live building of a gaint wall on the stage, the gaint pig balloon floating upon us, and in the final chorus - with the whole stadium screaming "Breack down the Wall!" - a mate vanished so it have all the emotions you can seek in a concert.
I'd enjoy both concert like there was no other day  ever. I hope that I could live a new concert of the size of "The Police" and "Roger Waters The Wall Live"

Welcome

I'm Back!

My name is Víctor. I'm 24 years old and I study composition at "Universidad de Chile".
I think my weakest point in English is speaking and writing. But I have a good compression when I read and listen to the language.

I realized some days ago, that there are some global test that the institutions around the world accept as valid test to go to study there. So, I would like to practice to do those test and don't lose the chanse to travel and study in countries that demand this language.

Level 4 - Second Term 2015

End of Semester

It's over...
Finally it is going to end. This has been a long, long travel. And one of the new things that brought this new semester has been making this blog.
I think there has been some good things and bad things. For example, I dont really like talking about my self. It's a little odd... I dont feel comfortable talking about my self and the things i like. Actualy, i never have had a diary for the same reason.
But, i think it has been a good exercise to practice writing in another language. There are some words that I have on my head because i listen them a lot on series, songs or movies, but they are written very different form what i imagine they look like.
Some words are not that different from my imagination, but have some little changes which can make the meaning of something i am saying gets very far from what i wanted to mean (write).
I think i would like to talk about things that i like, but not necessarily my favorite things or personal things. So, if movies is a topic, it hasn't to be my favorite actress or favorite movie. I could talk about one movie that i like and give details about it. It is a sutil but big difference i think.

About Movies


I don't think my self as a very big fan of movies.

Of course, I like going to the cinema. I enjoy when my friends came to my house or i go to theirs to see movies an afternoon or the whole night. So, I enjoy much more than a movie, the whole act to see a movie which the most of times means "to be with friends".

So I don't have a "favorite" for the most of topics about movies.  I have no favorite director, but i really like Kubrick, Socorsese, Tarantino. I like action movies, science fiction movies. Anime movies, japanese movies. I really don't like horror films. There is nothing worst than a bad horror film. A good horror film (to me) is just something i don't like... but a bad horror film is the worst way for loosing time.
despite this, i think i have a favorite movie. And it is "C'eravamo tanto amati". An italian film that tells the story about three comunist guys which fight at the second war, then, back in Italy, they changes as the world change around them.

I really recomend this movie to every one that i speak about movies.

Music

The music is very important in my life, in fact I study musical composition and all my days are around music of conservatory; one of my favorite’s exponents is the French composer of contemporary music Olivier Messiaen. I also can mention another exponents of academic music that I appreciate like Bartók, Tristain Murail and Shubert. I really like electronic music. There I can mention to Ryoji Ikeda who is one of the most important exponent of this kind of music style in Japan.

I also have my musical gropus of  predilection, like Pink Floid because they are just brilliant. One of my favorites albums of this british rock band is “Aton Heart Mother”. This is the fifth disc of the bad and was writed for all their members. Antom Heart Mother make debut in 1970 and is my favorite disc of Pink Floid because the timbral possibilities are open to the noise.

Other musical band of my predilection is Sigur Ros, they are Icelandic band of “post-rock” and they are very recognizable for the falsetto of their vocalist Jónsi (Jón Þór Birgisson). I like Sigur Ros very much because thay have the capacity of make a good fusion of rock and academic minimalism. Combination that remains me to cold atmosphere.

Finally the rock band for excellence and I couldn´t be left behind are The Beatles who are more popular that Jesus Christ. My favorites CDs are Sargent Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band and the Abby Road. And my favorite movie of them are Yellow Submarin because is really funny and colored

Hi there, so i'm going to speak aboot food.
Ok, this is a very difficult topic because there is so much i would like to say about food so i don't know where to start...
To make it these easy i'll start with my favourite food. And it is: chinese food. Of course, for those who read this blog from outside Chile, for us "chineese food" is a fusion between cutures. Probably the food from China is not like our chineese food, but is the thing that make the inmigrants from China in our country.
I also love to prepear different things. I enjoy proving new smells and tastes, so when i have the time, i look on internet some pages where i could find new things to do. It's difficult to have everything that the pages says you should have to make a recipe, so, from time to time, i must improvise some of the ingredients of the recipe. Some times it really works. Some times not to much, but i thing these is the way to learn everything. Try and taste!

Well i don't really know much about photography, but the first thing i thought when i read "photography" was these. I'd really like it, because is just as the work from this album: saying too much with just a few elements which, besides, are only common things.

So to day i'm going to talk about a band that i admire, so i really like visiting their website on internet. Getting news about their works, reading material about the CD's that they already has made and, of course, hopping to read they are coming to Chile.

This is the page of Sigur Ros, an icelandic band with a lot of material. They have an extraordinary evolution searching into an own musical language.
In the page you can find different layers in the left which could guide you throw their projects. You have the first CD's, the audio-visual material, the most recent work. And all of these are music that fusions sounds from rock, organic sounds, european minimalism, electronic. You can find everything that could mean something in the life of these musicians.

I think, i admire them because they can do a music that is essentially icelandic, but mixed with sounds that gives to the music a color that can be understood by the whole world.

Manuelita

Well, i have had a lot of pets. Cat, dogs and there is she: manuela :)
So, this is Manuela. She is like fourteen years old. Live into her aquarium and likes taking son and walking on my garden.
She was called manuela because she tries to go from her older aquarium. So we said she was going to go all over the world.
Some years ago, we take her to walk into de garden and she disappear. We where very sad because she is with us since i was very young. That must be like january... And like in september my brother was in the garden behind de hause and walking like nothing hapend at all there was manuela!!
So we assume she winter all that time. Probably sleeping. So, we jus decided that was the perfect name for her.

About a boy

I really don't know how much to say.
So... I'm Vìctor. I was born almost 24 years ago.
I have study music since i was 10 years old. I study Piano at IMUC with the pianist Ximena Ugalde. I was there till i get a crisis and i left it when i was seventeen. Then i diden't look the piano for like a year. Just now i'm getting the study rhythm i have
I like doing sport. I enjoy playing and watching football. I have a team in a league of my old school and play on mondays
I study composition at university and i am in my sixth year. Some people think my dad and mom turn crazy when they hear the both of their children ar studying music, but i think is agreat the have support us in this way to see the life.
I really don't know what other thing to say, so i will left it here.

About technology & me

Well, i always have liked technology. That doesn't mean i always have a lot of technology's articles. Actually, i was always one step behind technology when i was younger.
When i was at school it always happened that when the last cell phone was going down, just then i get that. When my class mates get the Nintendo wii i get the Nintendo GameCube.

So, i have always be late with technology but it doesn't mean i didn't like technology. Contrary to that, i have always been interested into virtual objects and how works different gadgets. From hand watches to gadgets to play.

I think i don't really have one favorite gadget. But, the most interesting object to talk could be my watch. I'v got it like seven or eight years ago. It was a gift for my father for making a city tour -he works on patrimonial buildings, by talking about them, to restore memory- to the switzerland president. But he have his own watch, so he decided to give it to me. An automatically blue watch.

I used it daily. Particularly not to day, because i left it in my home. I don't sleep with it and it was getting late to came to de class. So i ran & i left it.

I have always had  "good relations ships with time". So i always liked clocks. Big clocks, hand watches, everything it could give a clue to feel that ethereal thing called time. So, i can't imagine a life without a watch, basically because the most important isn't the gadget, but the time it self.

Expectations for a new Semester

So, this year is a very big year.
It might came with a lot of decisions that should mean some steps in my future.

First of all, i'm in the final laps of my career. And i still haven't so much clear what to do with my life once i finish the university.

Now i have like eleven courses. Like the first years of my career, i'm getting up early the most days of the week. In a hand this is a problem, because i almost always go home very late (like 7 or 8 o'clock) and just then i can start to study. So i go sleeping very late and yet wake up early. In other hand, monday, tuesday and thursday i going to the pool that it's fun an doing exercise give me some extra energy for the week.

My music group is going very well. We are at one step to do a new disc that should be released the first days of july. So we are with a lot of work for the concert of release be a great concert.

So, the problem, like always, its time. Particularly time to think of my life. With so many things to do, there's not much time to think about the future.
